René Antonio Soto Taylor was born February 8, 2006, in Cuernavaca, Mexico, and died at home in Victoria, Canada, July 21, 2015, due to neuroblastoma. René became a Canadian citizen on October 15, 2014. Survivors include his parents, Jose Luis Soto and Julia C. Taylor, his maternal grandfather, Douglas Taylor, aunt and uncle Brittany and Bryon Brodin, and cousin Lucas Brodin. His maternal grand-mother, Marcia Taylor, preceded him in death.
