Elizabeth Mary Izett

August 26, 2025 by Pacific Coast Cremation 10 Condolences

April 1956 ~ August 2025

Our beautiful Elizabeth passed away peacefully on the evening of the 21st of August. Her beloved husband, Alex, and their cherished sons, Jonathan and Robert, were by her side. Extended family across Canada, in the USA and the UK, share in their loss, as do numerous friends in Victoria where she spent the last 20 years.

Elizabeth was a lovely soul; kind and gentle – towards both people and animals. As a wife, mother and friend, she was endlessly selfless and supportive, always caring for others ahead of herself. She was also very courageous, having fought two painful battles with cancer, 22 years apart. Elizabeth will be sorely missed.

The Family would like to recognize the dedicated care and attention extended to Elizabeth by the wonderful doctors and staff at the BC Cancer Agency, as well as those of the Saanich Peninsula Hospice.

Respecting Elizabeth’s wishes, there will be no service. A private gathering of family and her close friends will follow. No flowers, please; but, for those who may wish to do so, Elizabeth requested that donations be made to the Victoria Therapeutic Riding Association http://www.vtra.ca

Rest-in-Peace, My Darling

I am still coming to terms with the loss of my very special friend and neighbour. Elizabeth Mary Izett. She was such a lovely, kind, caring and overall special woman. .She would burst with joy at the mention of her sons Jonathan and Robert. So many memories!

Elizabeth loved Volunteering with the Horse Therapy Program and I had the pleasure of seeing her in action one Christmas. She also had a great love for dogs and became my therapy dog’s “Other Mother”.

Condolences to Alex. Jonathan, Robert and all the loving family members that were there for her.
    Love to all,
    Elizabeth Mary (Bette) Anderson

    Dear Alex, Robert and Johnathan,
I am so sad to hear of Elizabeth’s passing – she was one of the most dedicated, kind, sweet and gentle volunteers who gave so much time, energy and compassion to the children during our Friday morning hippotherapy sessions. She will be greatly missed by everyone at VTRA.
Sending you my deepest condolences, strength and love, and hope you cherish the memories of her as she truly was a wonderful person.

      Alex, Robert and Jonathan,
I am deeply sorry to hear of Elizabeth’s passing. She was an endless source of support and encouragement to all of us at Discovery School. The very best of colleagues. I carry fond memories of gentle debates over the proper pronunciation of words such as ‘scone’ and ‘thing’ and that sad fact that ‘Canadians just cannot do proper grammar, can they’ . Her memory will always remain with me and the world is a sadder place today.

      My sincerest condolences.

We worked as colleagues for many years at Discovery and she was always so joyful to be around. Elizabeth was so encouraging to everyone. She loved each student and was so kind, encouraging and caring with all.
May you find comfort in your boys and with memories of the beautiful times together.

    Dear Alex, Johnathan and Robert,

Words cannot describe how much you are feeling right now with this loss. Heartache and tears flooded through me when I learned about her passing. She was someone who always wanted to help others.

I have very fond memories of Elizabeth as a student at Discovery School. I have so many words that can describe her. Care. Compassion. Kindness. Gentleness. She helped me in ways that she may not have realized; that’s how much she meant to me.

My sincere condolences to you and your family near and far! She is one special person that will be truly missed.
