Douglas Charles Campbell

June 4, 2025 by Pacific Coast Cremation 11 Condolences

Douglas passed away peacefully April 10th, 2025, after a short and aggressive cancer battle, surrounded by his loved ones.  Doug was born November 18, 1955, in Halifax, Nova Scotia.

Doug was a loved husband, father, brother, nephew, uncle, in-law and friend. He is survived by his beloved wife of 36 years, Rhonda Campbell and their children, Nichole Campbell (Laszlo) and Chris Campbell (Maria); siblings – Dwight Keeping (Deb), Linda Campbell, Cindy Murphy (Vic), Tara McIntosh (Bernie), Kelley Legault (Carey) plus many nephews, nieces, and in-laws.  He is also lovingly remembered by Rhonda’s side of the family and many friends.

It was so marvelous that many relatives and friends were able to visit. and assist, Doug during his short illness.  He was so thankful to have this opportunity to see many before he passed.

Doug did many things throughout his life.  He was part of the Canadian Armed Forces, PPCLI 1973 – 1989; Self-Employed Campbell’s Carpet & Upholstery Cleaning; Free Enterprise businesses; Sport and Deep Scuba Diving; travel; hanging with family & friends; and many home projects.

His impact on our lives will endure through the stories we share and remembering his laugh. Thanks for being a part of his and our life’s stories!

A Celebration of Life will be held in Nova Scotia with family in the future.

    Love you forever Doug.

So grateful you are at peace, and no longer in pain.
I miss your stories, your laughter… your huge, passionate, heart, and fierce dedication to family.
I will miss the enthusiasm, empathy, and spirit- that you generously shared, whenever we talked.
And, Big Brother, your hugs were so warm, and comforting – that I can feel them, whenever you come to mind.
I think you’ve taken a piece of us all, with you, when you upgraded.
I will hold you here, in my heart, until we meet again.

“It was such a privilege and honor to work and become a friend of Doug. He was an incredibly smart and thoughtful friend. Working with him in the battalion 3 PPCLI was very memorable. He always made you laugh even when we’re in difficult situations. Always looking for the silver lining to make things more durable through the day. The memories of Doug will always be a part of my life specially his laughter his great devotion to God wife and country. Thank you Doug for showing courageous faith in Christ during the final days here on earth. Like you said believers in Christ don’t say goodbye, but see you later. What a wonderful day that will be
    Your Friend
