May 18, 1951 – September 21, 2022
After a courageous battle with multiple myeloma our dearly beloved brother, Dan Griffiths, passed away peacefully with family and friends at his side at Victoria’s Royal Jubilee Hospital. Dan will be deeply missed by his family, many friends, and the church he devoted his life and whole heart to serving.
Dan loved being a drummer and got his start in 60’s and early 70’s rock bands in Victoria, followed by drumming in christian worship bands until his passing. He was called to a life of ministry as a musician and bible teacher, drumming and teaching at Trinity Christian Centre for many years and becoming Director of their bible college for a time before moving on to serve at New Life Community Fellowship for the last 25 years as an Assistant Pastor.
Dan is survived by his sister Pauline, brother Eric (Laurie), nephews Jordan and Timur and many loving cousins and friends.
A Celebration of Life will be held at North Douglas Church, 675 Jolly Place, Victoria, BC on October 29th at 2:30 pm.
Memorial donations can be made to the Malawi Mission online at http://newlifevictoria.com.
Offer Condolence for the family of Daniel Thomas Griffiths

be at peace, Dan!
I am delighted Dan is more alive now than he ever was. He was a big influence to me during my time in Victoria. We would often do lunch together and solve the problems of the world. He was one of those chaps who learned the humble secret of speaking when he had something to say, wise people listened to this man. I think Moses would have been like Dan, meek defined as ‘power under control’, but no ones fool. I look forward to seeing you in the clouds brother. Maranatha!

“Brothers and sisters, we do not want you to be uninformed about those who sleep in death, so that you do not grieve like the rest of mankind, who have no hope. For we believe that Jesus died and rose again, and so we believe that God will bring with Jesus those who have fallen asleep in him. According to the Lord’s word, we tell you that we who are still alive, who are left until the coming of the Lord, will certainly not precede those who have fallen asleep. For the Lord himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will be with the Lord for ever. Therefore encourage one another with these words.” 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18
My heart is saddened at the loss of Dan. I will always remember his heart of service towards people and his Love of God. I remember him coming to see me when I was very sick and praying for me as I lay in my bed. I also will always remember him playing the drums at Church. Heaven I know has no suffering and the weary body is no more it has been replaced with Peace, Love and Joy…Rest in the arms of your Lord. Ever remembered ever Loved.
I thought I’d give Dan a call to get together for lunch or dinner. His phone was not in service. I drove to his apartment and buzzed D. Griffiths and the intercom said “not in service”. I was concerned. Then I went online to find Dan’s obituary from September 21, 2022.
I’m so ashamed to realize a friend is gone. I knew he had battled cancer and with chemo therapy, he felt he was in good shape. I hadn’t been dedicated to keeping in touch and time has slipped away. So now I know he’s gone. I can still remember
Dan and my brother starting up a car club, The Traction Masters. He played drums in Peace Jeep, a very good local band from Sidney. What I do remember is this conversation over lunch. When prompted, he said he was practicing his drumming by playing along to The Byrds Greatest Hits album. That’s the album. I’ll miss and remember Dan Griffiths, a sweetheart of a gentleman.
