It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Derek Richard MacLeod. Derek was born in Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island to Milton Daniel MacLeod and Martha Grace MacLeod (Dunning) on March 14th, 1948. Derek attended Prince Street School and Queen Charlotte High School, where he was known as the shortest, most successful basketball player on Prince Edward Island. On the morning of August 12, 2022, Edie peacefully drew her final breath and her soul left to find well earned eternal rest. His family’s military life took them to France, Germany, then back to Saskatoon, Saskatchewan in 1962 where he found his first summer job at 16 years old working on the railroad. The next moves were to Camp Borden, Ontario followed by Victoria in 1964.
