Renee was born February 24, 1924 to Camille and Yvonne Mahy at a farm house in Manitoba. At age 3, the family moved to Dollard, Saskatchewan. There, she was raised in a two-room shack with her parents, 5 sisters and paternal grandmother. Living in the Pallister Triangle, she walked 2 ½ miles to school, surviving the dust bowl and many other hardships of the ‘dirty 30’s’.
