Scott Berkley Cable passed away peacefully on May 1, 2025, surrounded by his loved ones. Born on July 21, 1968, in Edmonton, Alberta, he was the son of David and Helen Cable (née Norlander).
Scott was a resilient, loved, and faithful husband, father, and friend. He is survived by his devoted wife of 35 years, Velvet Cable, and his children, Elishya Thomson (Kyle), Seth Cable, and Tia Cable, whom he affectionately referred to as his “OG3.”
Known for his quiet presence, wisdom, generosity, strength, and deep faith, Scott was a faithful and committed follower of Jesus who had a deep passion for worship. He dedicated over 30 years of his career to plumbing; however, his true passion lay in creating a space and home for people who became family to grow and find hope. As an active member of Canvas Church in Victoria, he devoted much of his life to serving and volunteering, living out his faith in every way he could. He worshiped Jesus until his last moment, and now he sings in heaven with his Lord and Savior and all those who left before him.
Beyond his commitments to family and faith, Scott enjoyed hobbies such as sledding, boating, gold panning, and passionately cheering for his Edmonton Oilers. His zest for life and unwavering support for his team brought joy to those around him.
Scott will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who had the honor of knowing him. We celebrate the fact that he is now worshiping with Jesus. His favourite bible verse is Proverbs 3:5-6.
A service to celebrate his life will be held at North Doug Church at 675 Jolly Place, Victoria, BC, on Friday, May 23, 2025, at 1 PM, followed by a reception.
In lieu of flowers, Scott would be honored if donations were made to the Canvas Church Building Fund. Donations can be sent via e-transfer to audrey@canvaschurch.ca (mailto:audrey@canvaschurch.ca) with the label “Scott Cable Memorial.”
