Louise Rita McRae

Born February 18, 1953 in Badegerow Township (Field), Ontario to Charles and Hazel (Spencer) French passed away peacefully on August 4, 2021 in Victoria, BC.

Louise is survived by her two children Cara McRae-Yetman (Gary) and Holly Cochran (Gaun); her two grandchildren Chloe and Xavier Yetman; her brothers Delphis (Theresa) French, Peter (Donna) French, Ben (Mary Harrison) French and her sister Patsy Thompson; her many nieces and nephews and cousins; her good friends Lynn Moen, and Sherri McElroy.

Louise had lived in Ontario, Alberta and British Columbia with friends and family all over Canada. Louise had a variety of work experiences from Meteorologist Technician in the Canadian Airforce, Life Insurance Agent and was a walk on Actress as an extra for a television movie. She loved doing puzzles, sudoku and brain games to keep her mind sharp. She enjoyed listening and singing to country music.

Louise had written these words for this occasion:

“I was born in a house that was blessed to be used as a church and married when my mother was on the obstetrics floor in a crowded hospital. I am very proud of my two daughters, their spouses and family. I’m lucky to have enjoyed the company of my grandchildren Chloe & Xavier and wish them all the best in the future. I even liked my grand dogs. I found a reason to laugh every day and although I won’t be around to bore you with my old jokes, I hope you still find a reason to smile and enjoy a country tune every day.

Bless you all for being the nicest family and friends a girl could ask for. If you don’t get an answer on my cell phone it’s because I’m shoveling coal down below.”

Louise will be missed by her mother, daughters, siblings.

A virtual ceremony of life will be held at a later date.

Thank you to all the staff at the James Bay Oaklands Community Care Office; Megan Veldhoen, Mattew Laroche, Winston Martin, Lisa Blumenschein, PaPaula and Edison. Also special thanks to nurse practitioners Sarah Shaw and Rebecca Arcos.
