It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Jenny (nee Krul) on July 11, 2025, with a smile on her face.
Devoted mother to Ted (Renee), Rick (Carrie) and Stephen (Erin); loving sister of Henry (Joannie); cherished Babcia to Matthew (Jenn), Krystina (Dan), Katherine, Sydney, Cory (Lisamarie ) and Riley (Caitlyn); sister-in-law to Chester Kowalik (Phyllis) and Ray Kowalik (Liz). She is also survived by her nephew, Jeff (Katherine), their children, Hannah and Olivia; niece, Kathy (Jesse); loving aunt to many nieces and nephews from the Kowalik family.
Jenny was predeceased by her husband, Ed Kowalik; and her parents, Walter and Helen.
She was talented at many things and was a successful florist and restaurateur, yet had the capacity to volunteer for numerous organizations.
Jenny was born in Toronto, Ontario and lived in many places out west, including Calgary and Vancouver while raising the family with Ed, but was mostly fond of their cottage at Priest Lake, Idaho, where many wonderful family memories were made. Her most recent residence was in Victoria, BC where she enjoyed sitting and looking out at Esquimalt Lagoon, watching boats go by.
Jenny was a proud member of the Red Hatters, a social group where she enjoyed the company of her friends.
She loved her polka music, flowers (particularly alstroemeria), gardening, reading, and golfing. She was an amazing cook and loved to entertain. A natural hostess, she was well known for her generous hospitality and sumptuous spreads.
Jenny will be missed deeply and fondly remembered.

I remember Jenny as such a caring, smiling person. Her hospitality knew no bounds and was certainly enhanced by her love of cooking and sharing. Always difficult to stop eating with Jenny staring and asking “what, you don’t like my cooking?!”
She will be missed but I understand she rests peacefully now.

I was lucky enough to be a guest at many of her fabulous dinner parties. We had a group of good friends who would golf and dine together. So many wonderful memories and much laughter. She was such a positive uplifting person and I miss her already.
