Jacob (Jake) was born in Nes, The Netherlands on April 22, 1933. In 1974 he moved to Canada with his family where he started his own business still existing today as Mid Valley Manufacturing located in Abbotsford, BC.
He leaves behind his loving wife, Tina, 11 children, and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Jake lived a full life and was blessed with friends and family who enjoyed his company and good sense of humour. He went to be with his Lord and Saviour on January 2, 2025 after a brief stay in the hospital.
Celebration of Life service will be held at Victoria Christian Reformed Church located at 661 Agnes Street, Victoria, BC on January 11, 2025 at 2:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to support the Mercy Ships Canada https://mercyships.ca/en/ which was a key organization Jake supported.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the family. Jake was such a nice man and we loved having him and Tina visit us in Ottawa. I enjoyed the time spent at the family camp out with Jake, loved our morning chats. I know he will be missed!
We only knew him for a short time, through his son Will. Jake and Tina were always very lovely to us. Rest in peace Jake. To Tina and the family you have our sincere condolences.
