Gundula Mogerman

January 25, 1946 – July 8, 2022 (76 years)

Gundula Mogerman succumbed to a number of serious challenges to her health and passed away peacefully in the presence of her family on July 8 at Royal Jubilee Hospital in Victoria, BC. She was an exceptional artist, mother, and wife of 56 years (Sol Mogerman) who lived a rich and compassionate life that created a brilliant legacy of wonderful art and, most especially, the lives of her four sons, Aaron, Reidar, Om, and Ian whom she leaves behind along with their partners, LeAnn (Dickie), Emma (Copner), Dominic (Prince), and Jamie (Butler) and their children, Isaac, Chya (Day), David, Willow, and Arlo.
Granddaughter of the German Expressionist sculptor Walter Kampmann and daughter of Artists Horst Kampmann and Hilde (Mahner), Gundula took her education at San Francisco State University in both Metal Arts and Art Education where she received her degree(s) to become an award winning silversmith and beloved teacher in California and British Columbia.
A high-spirited and devoted mother, wife, and friend she will be missed by all who knew her.
The family wishes to express its gratitude to Doctors and staff of Royal Jubilee Hospital, BC Cancer-Victoria, Death Doulah Barbara Thomsen (McMillan), and practioners associated with the Medical Assistance in Dying (MAID) Island-Health program.
