
Gerard Joseph Ferron, born June 12, 1944 to Marion Poirier and Leven Ferron, in St. John, New Brunswick, passed away peacefully on January 23, 2025, at Cowichan District Hospital at age 80.
A former merchant marine and offset pressman, he later worked in government administration until retirement in 2008.
Pre-deceased by his common law partner Andrew Cotton and 12 siblings, he is survived by his ex-wife Linda, children Collette and Scott, and grandchildren Jaeda and Tristan.
Known for his positivity and mentorship, Gerry enjoyed Canasta, world cruises, and family time.
A celebration of life will be announced.

Never got to meet you but I saw how Collette’s eyes lit up when she spoke about her dad. I’m happy for her because she got to spend time and really bound with him and celebrate the holidays. Rest well Gerry, your family will continue to celebrate your impact on them.
