Colin Lee Mantell

In Memorial

Colin, age 47 of Victoria, BC, much loved husband, father, brother and son, passed away on September 8, 2017. An original, Colin was born and raised in Victoria, he was a ray of light that shone brightly through others in so many different ways. After a valiant 5 1/2 year battle with metastatic colon cancer, Colin closed his eyes, pain free, and passed into life’s next journey. Left to carry on his wishes is his loving wife Deborah, his two children Jonathan and Alexis, his sister, Karen and his parents Gayle and Paul. Special thanks to Dr. JP McGhie for his care and guidance during Colin’s journey. Those we love don’t go away, they walk beside us everyday, unseen, unheard but always near. Still loved, still missed and very dear – Love you forever and ever always…. A Celebration of Life will be held at Westin Bear Mountain, October 12 at 2pm. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Colin may be made to the BC Cancer Foundation, 2410 Lee Avenue, Victoria.

    Deborah & Family:
For the long time we hadn’t been in communication!!

I saw Colin on occasion while at RJH–it was always an entertaining moment and we had good chuckles and exchanges. He enjoyed the visits and was never at a loss for humour.

I saw him a short time ago–the time slipped by me– and he looked tired. There wasn’t much of a chance to talk and I made a note to visit.
I didn’t make it back to see him and time ran out.

He certainly was a personality and for the time I knew him it was always good–I’m sure he was like that with the rest of the world.

He will be remembered and missed.

I am sorry that we won’t be able to attend his service as we will be away out of the country.
Please accept our condolences and our thoughts are with you and Family.
    Barny Hiney
