Bruce Hill died peacefully at Mount Saint Mary Hospital listening to Beethoven with his wife, Norma. He is survived by sons Michael and Douglas and was predeceased by his son, David in 2010. Bruce was also loved by his stepson, Ernie Kidd; and stepdaughter, Tricia MacLean and her partner, Tom Wilson; Bruce had eleven grandchildren — seven Americans and four Canadians.
Bruce was born in Calgary, AB, and earned a degree in medicine from U of A in Alberta. He practiced in California specializing in anesthesia at Tri City Hospital in Vista, CA. When Bruce retired he returned to Canada, settling in Victoria where he enjoyed theatre, opera, art, dining out, entertaining, family, friends, duplicate bridge, and his many travels with Norma.
Friends are invited to share memories of Bruce with the family on Sunday, Dec 22, at the family home in the Landmark at an open house between 1pm and 4pm. In August there will be a memorial gathering at Gordon Creek.
In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the Alzheimer’s Society or to Mount Saint Mary Hospital where Bruce received wonderful care.

You will be missed by all who loved you dearly. We are sorry your time here is done but the journey has been so hard for you and your family these past years that we are glad you are finally at peace. You brought Norma such happiness, it is wonderful to know you can find love at any stage of your life. Bruce was always so happy and pleasant to us and I will never forget the wonderful Lamb dinner he made for my birthday. He took to heart what made people happy and it was a pleasure to have known him. Much love. Dee & Prem
