Bruce J Reimer

On January 30, Bruce James Reimer of Victoria BC went into the presence of his Lord and Saviour. He awaits his loving wife, Dorothy (Hudson) Reimer of 38 years. He also leaves daughters Deidra Mercer, Brenda Smith(David Melloy),Marcy Smith ( Matt Fraser), Karen Grigolato; grand children Taelor Mercer, Owen, Mady, Sawyer, and Sydney Grigolato plus a host of family and friends.
Bruce was born to Jake and Hannah Reimer in Lowe Farm, MN on December 2, 1946 where he lived with his sister, Kathleen (Porter) and brother Stewart. At the age of 9, the family moved to Abbotsford, BC where Bruce grew up and eventually met his wife. He was predeceased by his father and mother.
Bruce was a gifted and talented artist as exhibited in his paintings, woodworking, landscaping and gardening. He had a special love for the water – swimming, scuba diving, boating, camping fishing (especially with his grandsons).
Bruce had a deep and personal relationship with his Lord which was foundational to his life and he loved to share it with others. He loved reading scripture: one of his favourites was found in Proverbs 4 “… get wisdom, get understanding. ..though it costs all you have, get understanding.”
A private gathering to honour Bruce’s memory will be held at a future date at Central Baptist Church. A special thank you to Dr. Colin Partridge and the hospital staff at Royal Jubilee Hospital CVU Department for their kind and compassionate care.

  2. Ruth Reimer Robinson

Bruce was a principled man who knew himself and lived his beliefs. He was a devoted husband and father. His creative talents have left a beautiful legacy. I feel privileged to have finally gotten to know this second cousin of mine when we found each other a couple of years ago.

  3. I also met Bruce Reimer for the first time last year & he is my second cousin. My parents Jake & Mary Reimer were very close with Bruce’s parents & visited them often when they made their annual west coast road trip. Bruce was a very interesting person with strong convictions to our Lord. I was fortunate to be invited into his & Dorothy’s home & saw all his talent first hand; the amazing craftsmanship he showed in the making of the bedroom & dining room furniture & his incredibly detailed art of a beautiful forest & stream & another of a snowy owl in flight, among so many others.
