1948 – 2026
Susan passed away peacefully on January 21, 2026 after a short bout of pneumonia.
Susan was born and grew up in Oxford, Nova Scotia. In her early years she attended the Oxford School system. Then went on to receive a diploma in Secretarial Training at the Cumberland County Vocational School in Springhill. She was married to Wayne Dingle in 1969. Wayne’s military career took them to live in various cities in Canada and to Lahr, Germany.
She was predeceased by her parents Arlie and Irene Terris, Oxford, NS; and her sister Kathleen Terris, Amherst, NS.
She is survived by her son Douglas Dingle (Tiki); her daughter Wanda Dingle; grandchildren Bryan Dingle; Alyssa Dingle and great-grandchildren Addaline Dingle and Castiel Wannamaker. She is also survived by her sister Darlene Dawes (William) and by several nieces and nephews and their families.
Family was always of paramount importance to her, she was a beloved Mother, Nan, Great-Grandma and Auntie Sue. Friends will remember her passion for helping out others, only if it was just listening and talking over a coffee and a donut. Susan’s career of choice was working in the food service industry where she held many different positions in many institutions, bakeries and restaurants over her lifetime. Susan was very passionate about following the ways of God. She enjoyed sewing and country music which was playing most of the time in her room. Her quick wit and funny sense of humour was always on display at the Summit on Hillside care facility where she lived out her final years.
The family would like to take this opportunity to say thank you to the staff at The Jesken Aerie Assisted Living building for the kindness and care given to Susan. She lived there for 11 years before being transferred to The Summit on Hillside. A special thank you to Susan’s sister Darlene for her care and compassion during her years living in Victoria, BC. Susan felt blessed to have you by her side for guidance and support.
No Memorial Service will be held by her request.
