In Memorial

November 11, 1952-January 21, 2014.  Stu passed away peacefully at the Victoria General Hospital after a wonderful goodbye from his kids, brothers, family and friends.  Stu loved comedy, rugby, the leafs, his cottage, fishing, boats and motors.  Given the number of motors in his life, all believe he loved those the most.  It is hoped that he will find one that works in the afterlife. Stu was a pioneer in the field of comedy promotion on the west coast.  In its prime, his company, Comedy Feast, was booking comedians throughout Western Canada.  To describe him as a character’s character would be an understatement.  He faced many challenges in his later years. All who loved him are comforted to know that  he is now at peace and at rest.

He loved his two kids, Ruby and Sean, more than anything else in life.  He will be missed by his brothers Owen and Jarvis, his sister Sarah, his father Arthur, his step mom Sallie and many nieces and nephews.

Everybody has a Stu story and all will have a chance to tell it.  There will be a celebration of his life this summer in Victoria.

Donations in Stu’s memory may be made to the Victoria Cool Aid Society #102-749 Pandora Avenue, Victoria BC. V8W 1N9. www.coolaid.org [1].

Stuey was one of the good guys in comedy, a good friend, a candid teller of stories, with a zest for life and friendship. See you in heaven, my old friend.

My condolences to Stu’s family. I was his neighbor for a while, and we had a chance to chat often. He spoke with pride of his children Ruby and Sean. Through phone conversations I have talked with some of his friends in Saskatoon, and am still in contact with them. His friends Lee and Mike also send their condolences. I know that he is missed.

Stu, you were a great friend when we were growing up in Don Mills. You introduced me to Rugby, which changed my life forever. There are so many great stories I recall. You were a great athlete, a caring person, a leader and so full of energy. I will always remember the 7 a side rugby trip to Montreal you organized. Or the trip in the VW to Florida. RIP my friend. You will be forever remembered. mel

Condolence from Randy Flom on March 2nd, 2017 4:48 pm

Stuey and I were best friends when your family moved to Don Mills from the Sault. Dave Forde, Stu and I spent all of our Junior High days together– Football at Bond Park, hockey at Norman Ingram, Stuey knocking on my window to go on his early morning Globe & Mail paper route, your first girlfriend, watching you and Dave perform at the Don Mills Theater (The Cat’s Pajama’s band). I often think of you with great fondness. My deepest condolences to Dr. Scott who I remember well, and the family. Randy Flom
