Sherry Geraldine Coderre, born July 6, 1939 in Rounds, BC, passed away December 13, 2020 in Victoria, BC after complications brought on by Breast cancer. Predeceased by her son, Mike in 2019; nephews, Kelly Young and Josh Kraeker; brother, Ron Pappenberger. Survived by her children, Maurice, Vivian, Paul, Leanne (Collin) Loganhume; granddaughter, Celeste;, former husband, Al(Rona); sisters, Marie Ewen and Lorna (Harry) Kraeker; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
Sherry grew up on Salt Spring Island and moved to Victoria where she met Al. She raised 5 kids and welcomed their friends with open arms. She worked at St. Andrews Cathedral for 8 years, then worked in Government 20 years. When she retired, she helped raise her granddaughter and welcomed her friends too. She was blessed with a large circle of friends she met through St Andrews Cathedral and those she met in various stages of life. She was very spiritual and devoted to her faith in Jesus. Such a beautiful, kind soul, she loved to make people laugh and shared her kindness and warmth with all that met her. Mom taught us an appreciation for laughing, adventure, exploration, music, fine arts, creativity and science. She loved travelling and her favourite trips were Hawaii, the Rockies by train, and Disneyland with Celeste. She loved Musical Theatre, and our Christmas tradition of The Nutcracker on Stage. Mom, Ma, Gramma, Auntie, Sis, friend, go into the arms of Jesus, shine your beautiful light.

A private Family funeral will be held, then interment at Royal Oak Burial Park. A Celebration of her Life will follow at a later date in 2021. In Lue of flowers, please donate to the B.C. cancer foundation or Victoria Hospice.

My sister, Sherry, was a sweet loving person her whole life! Whatever she did she did well! Our relationship had much laughter, private jokes & long conversations. Her family was most important only after her relationship with our Lord Jesus Christ. May Sherry rest now as her work is complete. We will miss you, but know we will see you again! xoxoxoxoxox
So sorry to know of your passing, Sherry. So sad not to have said good bye or visited you while in hospital, but you know of my frail condition. I kept praying for you, my dear friend, and now you rest in the arms of the Lord you have served and loved. Rest in peace, my friend. To Sherry’s Family: Sherry was a special part of the Don and Marjorie Fraser family. She came to live with us when she was completing her graduation year at Salt Spring school. We thought of her as our older sister, and I was so pleased to see her occasionally over the years. She was a very caring individual who put others before herself all her life. Please accept my deepest condolences on your loss,
So very sorry to have read Sherry’s passing. She and I go back a long way, babysitting all the beautiful children, Maurice, Vivian, Paul, Leanne and dear Michael. Blessing to all the family-may she rest in peace.

I am so sorry for your loss. I enjoyed getting to know your mom through all the soccer activities; she was a kind and loving person. My mom and Sherry would see each other at soccer and at St. Andrew’s, and one thing they’d always be talking about was how much each enjoyed being grandmas. My mom Louise sends her condolences. May you all be comforted with precious memories and knowing she is with Jesus.
We will always remember Sherry with a warm welcoming smile on her face. Her quiet and joyful faith was evident and she brought joy to all she met. We will miss you Sherry, for now, but not forever.

I first met Sherry in 1978 through the St. Andrew’s Cathedra People of Hope Prayer Group. Her faith was amazing. I know you will all be sad for a little while, but you will remember your mom and you will know she wouldn’t want you to be sad for very long and she would want you to still have some joy at Christmas, after all we are celebrating the birthday of her best friend!!

Aunty Sherry was a lady who had absolute beauty from the inside out!!! Her smile could light up a room! I am guilty of not seeing her as much as I should have, but when we did, it felt like we hadn’t skipped a beat. Her pleasant disposition and great sense of humor made her a joy to be around. I was so fortunate to work with Sherry in the early 90’s. she was warm, kind and a shining light — her dedication to her job could only be matched by the kindness she showed everyone. I was fortunate to run into her periodically over the years and always enjoyed catching up and hearing about her family — oh how she loved her family. My deepest sympathies to all of you. Rest In Peace Sherry.

I met Sherry in 1987 with the people Hope pray group at St Andrews Cathedral.We also shared brunch on Sunday after 9:30 Mass for many years.
