Shane Patrick Fortune

It is with broken hearts that we announce the sudden passing of Shane Patrick Fortune who passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, October 6, 2018 at the age of 40.

Born in Prince Rupert on March 29, 1978, Shane is survived by his loving daughter, Aveah, 7 years old. Lovingly remembered by Corrie Marshall (partner); Pamela Fortune (mother); Patrick (Debbie) Fortune (father); Jonah (Sarah) Fortune (brother); Olena Simpson (step-sister); Andrian (Stefanie) Szewczyk (step-brother); Tamara Szewczyk (step-sister); 5 nieces and nephews, numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Special thanks to John Ellwood of Pacific Coast Cremation for his compassion and care for our family in this extremely difficult time.

A Celebration of Shane’s Life will be held at Westshore Alliance Church. 2207 Millstream Avenue. Langford B.C. [1] on Saturday, October 20th, 2018 at 1pm.

I was so heartbroken to hear of this very disturbing news. My heart goes out to all of the Fortune family and friends in such a tragic and unbelievable season in life and death. May God be with you all and give you strength and His Peace.

I will remember him as a fun loving, happy young man. Praying for his daughter, partner and whole family.

My dear friend and I had the good fortune of meeting Shane at Sombrio Beach in 2011. He was kind, generous and always up for a laugh. I’m deeply saddened to hear of this death and send love and condolences to his family and dear friends.

I knew Shane for many years and have had the joy of being neighbors and friends for a few years now. We can truly say his smile and personality will be missed daily in the neighborhood. I was so sad to learn of Shane’s passing. It seems surreal that after after nearly losing Shane and Bob once, we would lose then both far too young. Thinking of you Pam and Aveah.
