Dick died peacefully on April 26, 2026 at Victoria General Hospital after a brief unexpected illness.
Dick is remembered by his wife Doris, stepsons Richard and daughter Rachel; Gord and his family Kara and Hayden; sister Pat, sister-in-law Patti and nieces Heather and Shannon.
Dick was predeceased by his parents Joan and Bob and twin brother Bob.
Prior to his retirement Dick worked for BC Systems Corporation. Dick was an active outdoorsman who volunteered for Saanich Parks. He spent thousands of hours removing invasive species from Mount Douglas & other Saanich parks. Dick regularly enjoyed playing numerous sports including tennis, golf and ball hockey. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
The family wishes to thank the ICU staff at VGH for their exceptional care and compassion for Dick.
A Ceremony of Life may be planned for a later date.
