Condolences for the family of “Pamela Kathleen Baanstra (nee Smith)”

Condolence from Allan Bauer on December 2nd, 2015 1:17 pm

Pamela Baanstra, Mrs. ‘B’ as many of us fondly knew her as, has not left me at all via many fond memories of her. I cherish every single one of them. Yet, I will miss her dearly…if she’s listening right now I just want to say to her: “Mrs. Baanstra, I sincerely hope you are at peace.” Last time we spoke, we talked about the movie ‘Cry Freedom’ after I ‘shared’ the Peter Gabriel song ‘Biko’. She loved that movie…wish we had the chance to watch that one together. My thoughts and prayers are now with her family, friends, and the countless friends and acquaintances she met ‘along the way’.

“All go to the same place; all come from dust, and to dust all return”.
We do not belong to this world, but to our original world we come from and will return to. May our Merciful God have mercy for her soul to rest in peace in heaven and may He bring comfort to those she left behind.

Mom B, sweet soul and kindest caretaker of all who came through her door. Thank you for your wisdom and love over 25+ years. (And guess who won the Grey Cup!!!) Much love to your family, all of whom mean a great deal to me. xo

Condolence from Lawrence Cofield on December 3rd, 2015 9:28 am

Mrs. B’s love and counsel were there for me in a time of need when I was about 18 years old. I will always have a warm spot in my heart for her. She was even great at tough love and I still have visions of her chasing me…while swinging a hockey stick.
Love and condolences to the whole family, Lawrence

Condolence from Noni Baanstra on December 5th, 2015 12:52 pm

I am so sorry to hear about Pam’s passing. The memories we all shared over the many years tell it all – being involved and watching the Baanstra families grow with the children out numbering the parents – bringing joy in all ways. My heart goes out to the family who have shared in so much support in the last few years with Pam and to a great caring husband John.
Peace be With You All.

Condolence from Carol MacKenzie on December 9th, 2015 4:41 pm

My deepest sympathy to Pam’s husband and family.

Pam was my friend yaears ago in elementary school in Edmonton. Different cities and life events meant we lost contact but the lovely, happy photo brought her back. I can
see her throw her head back and laugh as I remember the fun and games, chasing around in makeshift costumes and acting out movie plots, or sitting beside her at the piano where she taught me to plonk out “Heart and Soul”.
She was a generous piano teacher to me and played beautifully herself.

We loved to sing the songs from Carousel and Oklahoma
Pam’s lovely soprano making up for my attempts.

My condolences to her family and God bless you Pam.

love,
Carol
