My dear father, Lorne Wonnick, passed away peacefully August 15, 2019. He died suddenly of a brain aneurysm while staying on Lasquiti Island.
He was one of four children, born October 12, 1937, in Seven Sister Falls, Manitoba. He was a teacher for most of his life and a sailor. Dad loved the ocean and his boats. He crewed on many boats all around the world.
He had many friendships over the years and met so many through his travels. Dad enjoyed playing chess with them and was a great philosopher on everything from religion to politics.
Dad is survived by me and my family, Abby, David, Madeleine and Dillon Rivers. He also has a grandson, Joshua Wonnick. He had a special love for all of his grandchildren.
He is also survived by his sister Selma and brother Gilbert. Dad has a large family of nieces and nephews whom he was very close to and is also survived by.
He is predeceased by his parents Reinhold and Emma as well as his brother Roger. Sadly, Dad lost his other two children, Jody and Jordan, before he passed away. Rest in peace Dad.

I have just your Dad’s obituary. One of those moments when you think of someone special and wonder about them.
So sorry to hear of his passing.
He was a great friend of my family, particularly of Stash Dominiak. He spent alot of time with us in the Duncan area and on Hornby Island.

Abby, I have just come across this notice of your dad’s death. I am so sorry to hear of this. I’ve been thinking of him often over the past year or so and wondering how he was doing.
