Lillian Louise Bowden
It is with heavy hearts but profound love that we announce the passing of Lillian Louise Bowden on July 3, 2025, in Victoria, BC, just shy of her 105th birthday. Lillian passed away peacefully at Royal Jubilee Hospital.
Born in Frenchman’s Butte, Saskatchewan, on July 25, 1920, to May and Morris Thompson, Lillian’s life was a long and joyful journey.
She was predeceased by her husband of 65 years Maurice and son Ken. She leaves behind children: Don (Sandra), John (Sue), and Linda (Bruce) as well as many grandchildren and great grandchildren. Lillian cherished every moment spent with family and friends.
A true social butterfly, Lillian was the life of every party. Her infectious positivity and fun-loving nature drew people to her. She found great joy in her beautiful flower garden, a friendly game of bridge or bingo, and, above all, dancing. Her laughter filled every room she entered, and her ability to connect with people meant she was loved by all who knew her.
In honour of Lillian’s vibrant spirit, her family asks that you celebrate her life in your own way—put on some music, share a laugh, and raise a toast to a life well-lived.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Lillian’s memory may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation or a charity of your choice.
Keep dancing, Lillian. You will be deeply missed.
