Posted By Pacific Coast Cremation On September 14, 2020 @ 4:07 pm In Obituaries | 5 Condolences

Kevin was born on June 7, 1969 in the U.K. and immigrated with his adoptive parents to Western Canada at the age of 3 years. Passing through the school system he studied music at Trinity Western University. Generous in disposition; disciplined in mind. He excelled in the mastery of clarinet and saxophone. Kevin managed several of his own bands in and around Victoria, B.C. Travel was a focus for Kevin. He was Musical Director aboard several Cruise Ship lines. Kevin attained mid-90’s marks when re-training at Sprottshaw Community College.

Kevin’s faith in Jesus Christ – firm and unshakeable – was an indelible saving faith – hall-mark throughout his entire life. Mark this; in spite of multiple adversities!

You “fought the good fight of faith”, Kevin, Well done, son! Dad

Condolences for the family of “Kevin Alexander Leitch”

Condolence from Maija Liinamaa on September 14th, 2020 8:17 pm

I was shocked and saddened to hear of Kevin’s premature passing. He was a true individual – sensitive and erudite- and a profoundly talented musician, and I can only imagine the great hole his passing leaves for his beloved father and others. I am glad to know that he had the opportunity to share his musical gifts with so many while travelling the world, and that his faith was a source of comfort and steadiness for him, even during adversity. Deepest condolences to Alec and his friends. Rest in peace, Kevin.

Condolence from Adrienne Bull on September 15th, 2020 9:15 pm

It was a shock to learn of Kevin’s sudden passing, and for it to have happened as it did. For the short time that I knew him, my memories are of a well-spoken, well-read individual with whom one could have spirited conversations, covering a great many topics. I did think he was a man cut from another time but one thing is certain – he loved music, and seemed to have an affinity for big band sound. Knowing what else has transpired for the Leitch family this year, I send deepest condolence to his father. Kevin will be remembered by all those who knew him, and heard him play.

Condolence from Vincent Pollitt on September 19th, 2020 7:30 am

I spent the better part of 20 plus years becoming a better musician at your side. Definitely loved you as a brother. You inspired me and pissed me off in equal measure, as only brothers can. I will remember you as eccentric; a man who belongs in another time, playing music from a golden era. Impeccably dressed; eloquent; I always saw you in black and white with your long trench coat, your cigarette, your horn bag as if you’d walked out of one of Dizzy Gillespie’s clubs after a long night’s gig. And yet your music was in full colour. If I could have been there I would have played ‘I can’t get started’ for you my friend. The Bunny Berrigan version of course 😉. My horn and I will find you again.

Condolence from Brian and Faye Currie on September 27th, 2020 9:59 am

We have been friends with Kevin’s parents for over 20 years through our association as members of Central Baptist Church. It has only been since January 2020 that we met and got to know Kevin. He had a marvelous musically ability and love for music, and an avid reader of both Christian and other topics. We will be supporting his father Alex in prayer and practically as he deals with both the loss of his wife of 58 years, Janet; and now the tragic loss of his only child Kevin.

Having worked with this beloved friend and recorded music with him, I can only say that I lost a brother. Rest in heavenly peace my dearest friend. Miss you already.
