Jeremy Laurence Reynolds Chow

Posted By Pacific Coast Cremation On June 10, 2020 @ 3:48 pm In Obituaries | 2 Condolences

August 12, 1977 – May 30, 2020

Jeremy Laurence Reynolds Chow, 42, loving husband and father of 2, ended his hard fought battle with Acute Myeloid Leukemia on the evening of May 30, 2020, with his wife Evelyn Chow by his side.

Jeremy was born August 12th, 1977 to Laurence Chow and Robin Reynolds at the Royal Jubilee Hospital in Victoria, B.C. He lived in greater Victoria throughout his childhood and graduated from Esquimalt High School, class of 1995.  Jeremy spent a year working and travelling abroad in Australia before settling back in Victoria. While working at CFB Esquimalt Department of National Defence as a civilian tradesperson in 2003, Jeremy began his Joinery Journeyman Apprenticeship Program at BCIT and received his Red Seal Certificate in April 2007.  He was now a fully-fledged Joiner (Shipwright) and continued to work at DND until late 2018.

Jeremy loved the outdoors. He was adventurous, daring, and a thrill seeker. His favourite life experiences were skydiving, bungee jumping and most recently trying out the Sling Shot ride while he was in Guam.  Jeremy loved all things related to being active and played several sports throughout his life including soccer, baseball, basketball, rugby, squash, volleyball, and hockey. He loved swimming, wakeboarding on the lake with his Dad, skiing, snowboarding, and trying out fun gymnastics moves that he learned from the girls.

In 2003, he met the love of his life and future wife, Evelyn Chow (Lee) while playing volleyball and the two married on the 22nd of July, 2006. In 2008 they welcomed their first beloved daughter, Maile Chow and in 2010 their second, Jayla Chow. Jeremy was a devoted husband and loving father to Maile and Jayla, he would do anything for them. In our eyes, Jeremy won Father of Year, year after year.  He was a passionate Joiner (Cabinetmaker) and loved to make beautiful pieces of furniture and keepsakes for himself and his loved ones. In recent years, he enjoyed learning to cook new recipes and taking his family ‘glamping’ in their travel trailer to enjoy the many beautiful places on the island.

Jeremy was one of a kind person – often a source of strength and inspiration for those around him. Blessed with a quick wit and infectious laugh, he was easy-going, stoic, fair, and selfless. He possessed a rare combination of confidence and humility that made people seek out his wisdom and friendship. He will be deeply missed by all.

Jeremy is survived by his loving wife Evelyn (Chow), his beloved daughters Maile and Jayla (Chow), mother Robin (Reynolds), father Larry (Chow), sister Sarah (Lukuku), his 8 nieces and nephews, many aunts and uncles, cousins and countless friends.

He is predeceased by paternal grandparents King Fung (Chow) and Fan Foo (Chow), maternal grandparents Jack and Sheila (Reynolds), and Aunt Debbie (Chow).

A Celebration of Life will be held at the Royal Oak Burial Park for immediate family members and friends.
Regrettably, due to the current social distancing guidelines, this portion is invite-only.
