In Loving Memory of Jenny Lea Barnsdale
(June 22, 1976 – January 29, 2026)
Jenny Lea Barnsdale, age 49, passed away suddenly and unexpectedly in Nanaimo, British Columbia, due to acute asthma. Born in Halifax, Nova Scotia, she was the beloved daughter of Albert Barnsdale and Sharon Stewart. Her passing is a tragic and heartbreaking loss for her entire family and all who knew her.
She is survived by her father, Albert Barnsdale, and was predeceased by her mother, Sharon Stewart.
Jenny was a devoted and loving mother to her children: Tracy, Matthew, Jenna, Jessy and Nevaeh. She was also a proud and cherished grandmother to Shannon, Cole, Grace, Eve, and Eloise, who brought her immense joy and pride.
She is survived by her sister, Tracy Barnsdale. The bond between the sisters was unbreakable no matter what life placed between them, their connection endured with strength, loyalty, and love.
Jenny will be lovingly remembered by her nieces Brooke, Lyla, and Lia; her nephews Brandon, Nathan, and Landon; as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, and extended family members who held her close in their hearts.
Larger than life, Jenny had a presence that could light up any room. She loved camping, the outdoors, and time spent with her family. Her warmth, kindness, and infectious smile left a lasting impression on everyone she met. Jenny was resilient and strong, facing life’s challenges head-on and overcoming every obstacle placed before her.
Family was everything to Jenny. She lived boldly, loved deeply, and gave freely of herself. Though her time was far too short, the impact she made will be felt forever.
Jenny will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.
Her Celebration of Life will be held on Tuesday, February 10, 2026 at 12pm at the Langford Legion.
