Isabelle (Isabella) Ferguson (nee Beaton), age 93, died on Wednesday August 25th, 2021 at the Glenwarren Lodge in Victoria, B.C..

Isabelle was born in Galashiels, Scotland to Albert and Mabel Beaton, the younger sister of Amy and the mischievous one of the family. Isabelle grew up in Galashiels and in Carlisle, England where she met Harry Ferguson and married him July 29,1950. She took a ship to Canada in 1952 to join Harry in Montreal, Quebec with their first daughter Joan. Three more daughters came along over the years; Sandi, Tish and Kim. Isabelle was a kind, caring and loving mother and wife and she made friends easily as she enjoyed talking to everyone she met. She missed the UK but made a life in Canada participating in tennis and swimming communities, being an avid reader, scrabble player and Coronation Street fan. She loved travel and gardens and when Harry died in 2013 and she relocated to Victoria, B.C., she spent a lot of time enjoying the beautiful gardens and the ocean. Her last 8 years have been clouded by progressive dementia but she somehow usually maintained her cheerful nature, a good sense of humour, a quiet dignity and her consideration of others.

She is preceded in death by her husband Harry Ferguson and her sister Amy Toby.

She is survived by her daughters Joan Glover (late Keith Glover), Sandi Middleton (Ken Middleton), Tish Ferguson (late Peter Murphy) and Kim Ferguson (Tom Fouriezos), her grandchildren Emma, Shawn, Fergus, Julia, Trevor and Zoe, her great-grandchildren Teo, Ayla, Frankie and Logan, her sister-in-law June Fisher and her nieces, nephews and their families.

Huge thanks to the Glenwarren Lodge for their excellent care of Isabelle the last few years. They have always treated Isabelle with the utmost care and respect and were her family for that long year when we couldn’t be.

The family will be celebrating Isabelle’s life privately at a later date.

We will greatly miss her kindness, laughter and loving nature.
