In Memorial

Guy passed away peacefully at Victoria Hospice on August 30, 2019 after a long battle with cancer. He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Margaret; sons, Jeffrey (Sandi) and Peter (Cheryl); his beloved granddaughter, Makena; his mother, Bea; and siblings, Rusty, Lorraine (Bill) and Mike; and of course, his 3 cats whom he adored.

We will all miss his wisdom, kindness and brilliance. He was the guru of everything electronic and helped many people navigate that maze. He will be sadly missed.

A gathering to honour Guy will be held at Days Inn, 229 Gorge Road E. on Saturday, September 14, 2019 from 1-4 pm.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the BC Cancer Society or Victoria Hospice.

Dear Margaret and family…Guy was such a trooper having survived previous Cancer challenges. He and Larry were both determined to live their lives to the fullest…and they did. Now they are both at peace and together. We are so lucky to each have such wonderful family and friends support to help us move into this next chapter of our lives.

Condolence from Brian Chapman on September 11th, 2019 3:20 pm

My condolences go to Margaret and the rest of the Fenn family on Guy’s passing. Thinking back on him as a childhood friend in Dartmouth, and much later as a family man here in Victoria, I am struck by the curiosity and inventiveness he showed throughout his entire life. I recall one time when Guy invited me and my sister Laura into his man cave in the depths of Fenn Manor. There laid out on benches (and indifferently guarded by a cat) were time pieces, light boxes, display screens, and an assortment of other handmade devices, one of which to my untrained eye appeared to be a quantum-powered waffle maker. All of these inventions were manifestations of his ingenuity and, because he happily gave them away to friends, proof of his good nature.

Condolence from Gordon Bavis on September 13th, 2019 9:58 pm

Margaret and family, my heart felt sympathy to you all, I share your sorrow. For over thirty years Guy was a friend and colleague. Even after he left Pitney Bowes we continued to meet weekly for coffee; a good lasting friendship. Whenever we got together there was always laughter. Guy saw the funny side of life. As others have mentioned, Guy had a positive outlook on life. Hopefully we can all share that as a legacy to our friend. Guy, you will be sorely missed.

Gordon

Condolence from Tom Essery on September 23rd, 2019 1:44 pm

My condolences to the Fenn family. I did not know Guy personally but did know his father and mother, Bea, from navy diving days in Dartmouth. From all that I’ve read in the condolences, Guy was a respected and much loved man who will be greatly missed by all who knew him. I would like to express personal condolences to his mother, Bea, if she wishes to contact me.
