Cody and Courtney, My heart goes out to you both in the loss of Gerry. My deepest heartfelt sympathy to you both. Charlee and Colton have lost their beloved Grampa and will miss out on all the love he had for them both. We will just have to tell them lots of stories about Grampa as they grow to keep him alive in their hearts, as he will be in ours. Our June birthday celebrations won’t be the same. Love and hugs to you both.

Condolence from Brian Sumbot on June 21st, 2021 10:37 am

To Colette and Cory and all of Gerry’s loved ones, I want you to know that my heart and prays go out to you. Jerry and I go back a long way. He was one of my best friends from College at SAIT. Then when we started work after College we worked together at MEMPR in Fort St John 95-96. Since then we have had sporadic contact but when we connected it was as though no time had pasted. I know how saddened he was at the loss loss of his Zainah. I have recently started an effort to organize a re-union for all the PET SAIT Graduates from 1992 and sent him an email that was bounced. So I did a google search and was so saddened to find his obituary. As I remember the many discussions we had about life and its purpose, I want you to know that he is gone from this world, but he is not lost. I am certain he is happy to be with his Zainah once again and will watch over you in ways you will not see. I can only imagine the sorrow you feel, but knowing Gerry as I do I will tell you that I have total faith that you and I will look forward to a reunion with him when it is our time. He is gone, but not lost. Feel free to contact me if there is anything I can do to lessen the burden of his absence. I would like to do a special memorial for him at the SAIT Reunion.
