September 16, 1966 – February 13, 2026.
With deep love and sadness, we announce the passing of Catherine Ann Ronayne (née Tingley) on Feb 13, 2026 at the age of 59, after a courageous multi-year battle with pancreatic cancer. Catherine passed peacefully at home.
Catherine was the cherished daughter of Mary and Cyril Tingley, and beloved sister to Paul Tingley (Michele) and Susan Tingley and her beautiful niece and nephews. She is lovingly remembered by her stepdaughters Celina (Nathaniel) and Lise (Brayand), who were grateful for her love and guidance. Catherine will also be dearly missed by her grandchildren Freddie and Makai, partner- David Rudy, cousins, friends, and grand pups (Cleaver and Challupa)
She will be remembered for her warmth, sharp wit, and unwavering compassion for others. Catherine grew up amongst the scenic hills and marshes of Albert County, New Brunswick. She sought opportunity and adventure first in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia where she settled in to the task of balancing accounting and family rearing, and later landed in Victoria which had the natural beauty of her home and the small city charm of Halifax.
Catherine had a strong work ethic and a commitment to excellence in everything she did. She earned her Business Administration degree from Mount Saint Vincent. She also earned her Certified Management Accountant (CMA) designation from Mount Saint Vincent University. Not one to do things the easy way, while attending university full time she also worked 30 hours per week in the accounting department of her employer. Throughout her career, she was admired for her drive, professionalism, integrity, and ability to uplift those around her.
Catherine found joy in simple pleasures — sharing laughter with family and friends, travelling, ripping her car abound the racetrack and cherishing quiet moments at home in her lush and tranquil garden.
Though her time with us was far too short, her love and light will remain forever in our hearts.
An Open house will be held at Catherine’s for close friends and family on Saturday February 21, 2026 between 2pm to 6pm
Burial will take place in New Brunswick TBD.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Giving in Memory – BC SPCA (https://spca.bc.ca/donate/giving-in-memory/?form=make-a-donation) [1] or to a charity of your choice in Catherine’s memory.
