Irene Ford

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Irene Ford (Mom) with family at her side. Irene was born in Kippax in county York England September 19th 1932 and died January 20th 2018 at the age of 85. In 1951, she married the love of her life John (Jack) Ford and two years later they came to Canada in 1953 to start a new life. Together they explored the wonders of the west coast before settling down to start a family. Irene lovingly raised two boys and when she was able she returned to the workforce as a bookkeeper until she and Jack retired. When they retired they found their little bit of paradise in Blind Bay BC overlooking Shuswap Lake before moving to the Island in 2015.

Mom is predeceased by her husband of 56 years Jack, her sister Kathleen, and brother John. Mom is survived by her two sons David (wife Donna), Christopher and her sister Connie.

Mom will be remembered for her kind and loving ways, her eternal patience and her ability to make everyone one she knew feel loved. She had a deep love of dogs and cats and would lovingly accept whatever animal someone managed to bring home. Mom had a wicked sense of humor and loved to laugh.

Mom, words alone cannot even begin to express how much you are loved and missed.
