I am very sorry to the Beaupre family for your loss. Joe was a kind, wonderful person, and made work feel much more like a welcoming community. I will keep him and the Beaupre family in my thoughts.

My heart goes out to Joe’s family. I feel so fortunate to have known him over the past 12 years. He had an eye for capturing Nature’s best moments, and adding a chuckle to each day. My memories of him range from the VENTURE softball day when he disappeared into the outfield fog (but held his position anyways), our shared giddiness and photographic enthusiasm on Day Sails aboard HMC ships, sharing salty stories of life on boats, going down to Stores for a pencil to hear Joe’s latest joke, and just standing outside the Gunroom every Friday shooting the breeze and taking in the beauty of the day. What a gentle soul, he is missed and will be remembered always.

We, the Manitoba family are sorry to see you go but we are sure that you are now in a better place where pain and suffering is non existent. May God keep you in His hands and reunite you with the Beaupre clan already in his presence.

I too am very sorry to the Beaupre family for your loss…..I remember the first day I met Joe, his smile, humour and authenticity filled the room with a feeling of acceptance and peace. Joe never allowed frustration to get in the way of his objectives, he had a skill and style that resulted in many, if not all his collegues learning what true professionalism is and the attributes that nuture such qualities. I do not think I will ever come across another soul such as Joe’s with the remaining time I have left, but I know that his influence will always be impressed upon my mind and how I treat others as I move forward to my last train stop.

Our dear friend has set sail into the Universe, a smile on his face and a twinkle in his eye. Our deepest condolences go out to everyone who knew and loved this gentle soul, especially his daughter, grandchildren and siblings who stood steadfastly by his side, helping him through his last days with us. We will miss him till we meet again. In the meantime, I am sure one of those stars twinkling in the heavens is the spark of his soul, lighting our way through the semi-darkness of our time here on earth. Sail on, Joe. See ya in the great Margaritaville in the sky one day!

Joe’s quick smile, unique sense of humour, and great personality will be missed. Even though he would deny it, his calm nature and quiet professionalism was an example to the thousands of students that passed through VENTURE in his many years there. His memory will live on in the many staff and students that had the pleasure working with him. As a fellow life-long sailboat aficionado, I will miss discussing the sailing life with Joe and his friendship. My condolences to the family.

Joe left us too soon. He faced his illness with such courage and got right down to the business of living his shortened life to the fullest, which was not surprising at all. I am so grateful I was able to spend some time with him earlier in the year, and that he was surrounded by family when he left.

Thanks, Joe, for putting me up and looking after me when I left home for the first time. And letting me borrow your car to do laundry… even though I didn’t have my driver’s license…

Joe thank you for always having my back at NOTC. I can’t think of a time that I called and and you never turned me down. It is for that reason I always was happy to help out when I could and even when I left NOTC I loved coming back so we could talk about flying and catch up.

You are missed sorely my friend but I know your in a better place now.
