John Patrick Carrieres

It’s with deepest sadness that we announce the passing of John Carrieres on August 8, 2018. John passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family after a struggle with cancer. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him. John was born in Ottawa and settled on Vancouver Island, ultimately building a home in East Sooke among the mountains, ocean and trees that he loved. Robert James Allen

Bob passed away in hospital in Victoria on July 17. He enjoyed a long & successful career in the Federal Government in Ottawa, and was an optimist no matter the obstacles. He was a raconteur able to entertain his listeners with tales from his service with the RCMP, his "funny farm" in Woodlawn, and from his business association with the First Nation people in Northern Ont., following his formal retirement. On Mother's Day, May 13th, Patricia (Tricia) McMullan (née Dewing) passed away peacefully in the company of her husband of 40 years, Andrew McMullan. Our generous, quirky, and loving Tricia was born in Norfolk, England, and came to Canada on holiday in 1977, where she met Andy. They were married a year later.
